Gifting

When attending a Bar Mitzvah, it's customary to bring a gift to congratulate the boy on his coming-of-age. The most traditional gift is money, often given in multiples of 18, as the number 18 in Hebrew symbolizes "chai," meaning "life." For example, you might give $18, 72, 108, 126 etc...   This is considered a good luck gesture.

When considering the amount to gift, consider how many events you are attending/people who are coming from your family. The gift amount is a personal choice, but can be influenced by these factors.

Other suitable gifts include non-religious gifts like gift cards, books, or something that reflects the boy's interests are also appreciated. If you're unsure, it's okay to ask the family or someone familiar with the customs. The key is to offer something thoughtful that acknowledges this important milestone.

Please only gift one time during the three days. There will be a gifting table where guests can drop off their item.
