Zamru
When Rabbi Julie Roth leads the singing of Zamru, it's an invitation to join in a joyful, spiritual experience. Zamru is a Hebrew word that means "sing," and it's often part of Jewish worship services, where music plays a central role in connecting people to the divine. Brian Singh, along with his JLC peers, will be helping to recite Shabbat prayers.
For someone who is not of the Jewish faith, participating in or witnessing
the singing of Zamru
might feel like being part of a sacred, shared moment. It's less about the
specific religious context and more about the universal power of music to bring
people together, fostering a sense of peace, community, and connection.
